A small heart with a narrow door

Pulmonic stenosis

Gucci was born with a narrowing of the pulmonary valve, the little door between her heart and her lungs. It makes her heart work much harder than it should to pump blood where it needs to go.

Her cardiologist, Dr. Jose Botte at the British Veterinary Centre in Abu Dhabi, has recommended a balloon valvuloplasty: a minimally invasive procedure where a tiny balloon gently widens the valve. It is the standard fix for this condition, and it can greatly improve her quality of life and help her live longer, healthier and happier.

She doesn't know any of this, of course. She just knows teepees, bandanas and birthdays.
